Madras Cafe - Trailer Trash Talk

Lalit: I wasn't entirely impressed with the trailer. It just doesn't make me want to watch the movie. And I hate to say this, but I have never enjoyed watching a John Abraham performance. Ever. He's doing a good job staying behind the camera with his production company, but in my opinion, he has just failed to be a serious actor.

Often times I've seen trailers which try to pack in too much information in an attempt that something might stick in the minds of the viewer and they will make a decision to watch the final product. This wasn't one of those. They just ended up cutting a very busy trailer which didn't grab my attention at all.
Tarun: I somewhat agree about John. He's not matured as an actor yet but he's come a long way since his debut. And he needs to stop saying goddammit, goddammit. But having said that I'm still intrigued by the trailer because of the look and feel of it.

I want to see if Shoojit is capable of doing something completely different from his last film. Vicky Donor was an ok film. What stood out for me was the drama in the second half. And I want to see if Shoojit is able to infuse intense drama into this sort of action film. Plus the film seems to be in three languages, if I'm not mistaken, which is something you don't see everyday in an Indian film. Hopefully there's some subtitled dialogue in the film.

The background music is a bit too inspired but it's still a good trailer. Hopefully there's a lot more in the film than they've shown. So despite John and Nargis, I'd go watch this film on the first day. Unless the second trailer proves me wrong.

Varun: I liked how the trailer starts, very cinematic. Looks like an interesting movie to watch, not sure about John Abraham and Nargis Fakhri though. I agree John is a non-actor, his most impressive movie was Taxi No. 9211 according to me but if you see his career graph or the movies he has chosen to do, its been a little unusual for a bollywood mainstream actor whether it be No Smoking, Kabul Express and so on. But that doesn't count, does it. Vicky Donor was ok movie, first half worked for me.

Yes, I want to see what Sircar does with this one. Haha and good point by Tarun - Goddammit!
